Inspired

While at a party (ok, it was a shower, a baby shower, but it was co-ed, no really... I swear it), I was inspired to maybe try blogging a bit more.

I think I finally met someone who blogs first and enjoys social networks second instead of the other way around. She was pretty cool and I can now see why blogger meetups are such a huge success.

Topic for today: things I say to customers (or people who just stop by the store with no intentions of buying anything) that I shouldn't be allowed to get away with.

Lady with packages: Can I check these here while I go to Bon Ton?
Me: Umm yeah, absolutely... as long as you buy a phone first.
Lady with packages: Oh I have WAY too many phones as it is.
Me: Then maybe you'll want to head over to Guest Services where they actually may normally do something like that.
(They turned her down too)

Woman with no spectacles: Can you tell me where Sterling Optical is?
Me: Yeah, sure, do you see that big blue sign down there, oh nevermind, you are looking for Sterling Optical and I understand, so if you'll just have to place your hand on that wall over there and let it guide you past multiple openings until you find the next corridor in the mall. You'll want to go ahead and follow that corridor wall until you reach the next opening. THAT will be Sterling Optical.
Woman with no spectacles: {Amazed that someone would speak to her that way} Smart ass!
Me: I live to serve, Ma'am.

Man who's more confused than I imagined: Can you tell me where the Nextel booth is?
Me: Uhhhhh.
Man who's more confused than I imagined: Oh, um, I uh wasn't paying attention. Sorry. Do you carry Verizon Phones.
Me: You're kidding me right?
Man who's more confused than I imagined: No, I need to replace my LG Chocolate.
Me: Well sir, being Nextel and at worst Sprint we don't carry competitor's phones.
Man who's more confused than I imagined: Oh, well do you have a charger for the Chocolate?
Me:....
